A few days before Gracee's party I baked the cake so I could get it in the freezer.

My friend Shauna gave me a pan release recipe and it worked GREAT!!! I think this is the first cake I have baked that has come out of the pan SO BEAUTIFUL! At this point of the process I was feeling pretty good considering every time I bake a cake I vow never to do it again.

I had it cooling on the counter and went into the laundry room for maybe one second or less. When I stepped back into the kitchen Emme was up to the cake and had a very sad look on her face. I held my breath expected the worst and peered around her to assess the damage. It was not bad but I was slightly upset.

I asked Emme why she had picked at the cake she said "I sorry mommy, you can bake another one." So I decided that is just what we would do, I made Emme help me make another one. It wasn't really punishment because she loved making another one.

We got the second one all baked and she told me "I not touch this one mommy!" We left it to cool, it looked like this:

I left the room again and I know, I know what was I thinking. This time when I returned it looked like this:

Emme had no idea what happened...

Next time I bake a cake I will probably hide it while it is cooling. It was just too tempting for a certain little someone:)! We got them both in the freezer and both were just fine despite me fretting over them.

I will most likely be baking another cake in April to be exact and most likely have a little helper named Emme by my side. It definitely will be eventful!
Oh and when we were done frosting the cakes I couldn't even tell which one had the hole in it.

Lilly says "yummy"!
So so so cute!
I love that little trouble maker!! She has such a twinkle in her eye when she's up to something fun! I can just imagine her thinking that if she just carefully put it up there she'd be helping so much. Love it!!
Those are so cute! I LOVE the picture of Emme. You are such an awesome mom!
