The day of the big race finally arrived

and Gracee was so excited! She was so excited right up until we pinned the number on her new t-shirt. That is when she got nervous. Grandpa Lyle signed Gracee up for this race that was put on by the local chiropractor. So for the last month she has been practicing in the long hall way in the basement to and from visiting Grandma Rooney. (I don't know if I mentioned but my mom has been staying with us for the last couple of weeks recovering from hip surgery.) Anyway back to the race story... We got her number all pinned on and were ready to go. Ruffin stood at the end of the finish line and waved at her and when they said go, Gracee didn't go... She clung on to me and began to cry so I tried to get in front of her to take a picture and she chased me and fell in the grass and it was all a little traumatic! So together Gracee and I finished the race (it was only 25 yards, we're thinking next year she'll be ready for the 5K :)
What a morning! Gracee's favorite part about the whole event was the gatorade and granola bar she got for participating. I think Gracee will stick with gymnastics for now:)
